Uncertainty continues to surround the future of Moroccan coach Walid Regragui as the 2026 World Cup approaches, with increasing speculation about his next destination in the coming period.
Media reports suggest that three national teams participating in the tournament are interested in securing his services, particularly if he leaves his role with the Morocco national football team.
Among the interested sides is the Ghana national football team, which is reportedly searching for a new head coach after parting ways with its previous manager following a series of unsatisfactory friendly results, as it prepares for a challenging World Cup group that includes England, Croatia, and Panama.
The Saudi Arabia national football team is also said to be considering a managerial change after recent friendly defeats, with the team competing in a tough group alongside Spain, Uruguay, and Cape Verde, prompting a search for a quick and effective solution to stabilize performance.
A surprising third contender is the Curaçao national football team, which has shown interest in appointing Regragui, motivated by his remarkable achievements with Morocco, including reaching the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations final.
Curaçao, preparing for its first-ever World Cup appearance, faces a difficult group featuring Germany, Ivory Coast, and Ecuador, making an experienced coach like Regragui an appealing option to strengthen its competitiveness on the global stage.
With these developments, Regragui’s future remains open, as multiple possibilities emerge while national teams move quickly to finalize their coaching plans ahead of football’s biggest tournament.
