The Montazah Second Misdemeanor Court in Alexandria, presided over by Judge Sohail Nabil and with the attendance of clerk Morsi Sayed Ali, acquitted five individuals of the charges against them in the case known in the media as the “Partners of the Al-Maamoura Butcher,” after extensive deliberations and a comprehensive review of the defendants’ and defense’s statements.

Defense arguments and grounds for acquittal
The lawyer of the first defendant, "S.A.H.," presented arguments confirming that his client was not present at the crime scene when the murders took place and that her relationship with the main defendant was limited to a legal power of attorney. He added that his client is illiterate and had been lured into using a Visa card belonging to the second victim, "Turkey," to withdraw money the main defendant gave her as part of alleged legal fees.
During the session, the first defendant denied any connection to the crime, stating that she was shocked to find a pit and a shovel inside a closed room during a visit to the apartment of the second defendant, "N.R.S.," which prompted her to leave the place immediately.
As for the third defendant, "M.M.F.," he testified that he did not know the main defendant and had never met him before, claiming that his name had been dragged into the case without any material evidence linking him to the crimes.

Details of the second defendant’s stay at the apartment
The session revealed details of the second defendant, "N.R.S.," staying in the apartment where the crime was committed after being evicted from her previous residence on February 1, 2025. Investigations confirmed that she had met the first defendant, "S.A.H.," several times in the apartment before the crime was discovered.

Previous detention extension and charges of concealment
The Public Prosecution had previously renewed the detention of the five defendants, "S.T.A.," "S.A.H.," "N.R.S.," "A.M.A.," and "M.M.F.," for 15 days pending investigation on charges of concealing murders. Investigations revealed that they were aware of parts of the crime while attempting to extort the main defendant for money in exchange for not notifying the police. Some were employed by him, while others had professional ties to him.

Death sentence for the Al-Maamoura Butcher
In the main case, a police mission from the Alexandria Prison Transfer Department transferred attorney "N.E.G.," known in the media as the “Al-Maamoura Butcher,” to Borg Al-Arab Prison under tight security following the death sentence issued against him for intentionally killing three people with premeditation.
The sentence came after the First Circuit of the Alexandria Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Mahmoud Issa Serag El-Din, referred his case to the Grand Mufti for a religious opinion on the death penalty, which the Mufti approved. The court then issued its final judgment.

Court rationale and psychiatric report
The Public Prosecution demanded the maximum penalty for the defendant, stating that he used his position as a lawyer to commit murders and deceive his victims, betraying professional trust.
The prosecution confirmed that he deliberately killed his wife in addition to two other victims, whom he lured using fraudulent methods.
The court received a detailed report from Abbassiya Mental Health Hospital confirming that the defendant was fully sane and aware of his actions at the time of the crimes. The report, prepared by a tripartite committee of psychiatry professors at Cairo University, indicated that the defendant displayed traits of manipulation and lying but suffered from no mental or psychological disorders impairing his cognition.

Testimony of key witnesses
The court heard the testimony of the 14th prosecution witness and the head of investigations at the Montazah Second Police Department, who confirmed that the defendant committed the three murders with premeditation. He explained that the defendant killed the first victim and transported the body from his apartment to his office inside a wooden box, then disposed of the car used in the transfer in a garage in Montazah. He added that the defendant intentionally killed his wife due to personal disputes and murdered the third victim with the intent to steal.

DNA analysis results and case details
Forensic DNA analysis matched samples taken from the three bodies with those of the victims’ families, confirming the main defendant’s involvement. The Public Prosecution authorized the reburial of the victims in their families’ cemeteries in Alexandria and Cairo.
The case, registered as No. 9046 of 2024 Montazah Second Felonies, included a large list of 25 prosecution witnesses according to the Public Prosecution’s investigations, which uncovered shocking details about how the crimes were committed and how the victims were disposed of.

Counselor Nevin Wahsh emphasizes that criminal investigations, despite their importance in the initial detection of crimes, cannot be considered fully-fledged evidence in criminal proceedings. Not every piece of information recorded in investigation reports rises to the level of legal proof, and the belief formed by law enforcement officers cannot, on its own, justify a criminal conviction.
