After Military Escalation... Trump Speaks of Imminent Peace Between Tehran and Tel Aviv
Trump mediates between Israel and Iran to end the recent escalation and calls for a peace agreement.
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he is currently coordinating intensive communications with several influential international parties in an effort to bridge the gap between Israel and Iran and contain the recent military escalation in the Middle East.
In a post on his "Truth Social" platform, Trump expressed confidence in the possibility of achieving real progress toward peace between the two sides, noting that the ongoing diplomatic moves aim to reach a comprehensive agreement to end the growing tension. He explained that he seeks to replicate his previous mediation model, which helped de-escalate the crisis between India and Pakistan, where he played a pivotal role in reducing tensions at the time.
Trump added that it is crucial for Israel and Iran to reach mutual understanding and to halt military confrontations, warning of the dangers of continued combat operations and their potential impact on the stability of the entire region.
This move comes in the wake of a significant escalation in the region, as Israel launched a series of wide-scale airstrikes on the Iranian capital, Tehran, targeting nuclear, security, and military facilities. Among the most notable targets was the Natanz nuclear facility—one of Iran’s most sensitive sites—as well as leadership locations belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
According to international media reports, an Israeli drone struck the headquarters of Tehran’s Greater Police Directorate, causing large fires and extensive material damage. Meanwhile, powerful explosions rocked Piroozi Street in eastern Tehran, believed to have targeted the Iranian Air Force command.
Despite reports of casualties and severe destruction, Iranian authorities have yet to issue an official statement detailing the extent of the losses or outlining a potential response to the attack.
A state of concern prevails in regional and international circles, amid fears of the situation spiraling into an open conflict between the two nations that may be difficult to contain. In this context, Trump—according to his announcement—seeks urgent intervention to reopen communication channels and pursue a political settlement that halts the military escalation and restores stability to the region.
