Apple Plans New Device Launches and Major Upgrades in 2025 and Beyond
Apple is set to release new devices including a MacBook powered by iPhone chip, iPad Pro updates, iPhone 17 Pro Max battery upgrade, and pauses development of iPad Fold.

Apple is preparing to launch a wide range of new devices and significant upgrades across various product lines in 2025 and the coming years. These plans cover smartphones, laptops, augmented reality devices, tablets, and wearables.
Highlights include a new 13-inch MacBook powered by the A18 Pro chip used in iPhones, providing an affordable option aimed at iPhone users interested in macOS. This device is expected to be available in multiple vibrant colors by late 2025 or early 2026.
In augmented reality, Apple plans to release several devices starting with minor improvements to the M5 Vision Pro in 2025, smart glasses designed for daily use like Apple Glasses expected in 2027, and advanced models such as Vision Pro 2 and XR Glasses by 2028.
Regarding iPads, an iPad Pro with the M5 chip is scheduled for fall 2025, followed by an M6 version with slimmer bezels and a design similar to Samsung’s tablets. Meanwhile, development of the iPad Fold has been temporarily paused without a stated reason.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to feature a significant battery upgrade to 5000mAh, with a slight increase in thickness to accommodate the larger battery, offering around 35 hours of usage. The release is anticipated in the second week of September 2025.
