Elon Musk Announces First AI-Generated Video Game by xAI Coming in 2026
Elon Musk revealed that xAI's game development division is working on the first fully AI-generated video game, expected to launch by the end of 2026—marking a bold step into the future of interactive entertainment.
In a recent post on X, Elon Musk, CEO of xAI, announced that the company plans to release its first video game generated entirely by artificial intelligence before the end of 2026. The game is being developed by a dedicated team under the newly established “xAI Game Studio”.
Musk wrote:
“The xAI game studio will launch a great AI-generated video game by the end of next year.”
This statement came in response to a user asking about the capabilities of Grok—the company’s smart assistant—and whether it could eventually create fully dynamic video games.
While Musk has yet to confirm whether the game will be entirely AI-generated or involve some level of human input, earlier moves suggest a hybrid approach. In February 2025, xAI officially announced the formation of its game development division and called on AI-savvy game developers to join the mission.
Soon after, the company posted a job opening for a “Video Game Trainer”, whose main role is to train the Grok model in game concepts, design mechanics, and interactive systems through human-guided learning.
