The Badrashin Misdemeanor Court has issued an in-absentia ruling sentencing the father of a student to two years in prison after he was found guilty of participating in an assault that took place at a school in the Badrashin district of Giza Governorate. The father assisted his son in attacking a fellow student using a sharp object, which resulted in a deep facial wound requiring 27 stitches, as well as multiple bruises and injuries across the victim's body.
The incident dates back to a fight that erupted just outside the school gates, immediately after the end of an exam session. The assailant student was reportedly angry because his classmate had refused to help him cheat during the exam. He threatened to assault him and later carried out the threat with the help of his father — an incident that sparked widespread outrage among parents and on social media.
The father of the injured student said that his son is consistently high-achieving and had frequently been harassed by the other student, especially during exam periods. He was often pressured to assist with cheating, and when he refused, he faced verbal abuse or threats.
On the day of the incident, the father stated that the assailant and his father waited for his son outside the school. The adult restrained the victim, allowing his son to attack him with a sharp object, causing a severe facial injury that may leave permanent scarring. A police report was filed (Case No. 3228 of 2025, Badrashin Misdemeanor Court) and included a medical report documenting the extent of the injuries.
The victim’s father expressed his shock that an adult — the accused student’s father — would become directly involved in such an act instead of de-escalating the situation or trying to defuse the conflict. He also noted that his son is currently suffering both psychologically and physically as a result of the attack.
Meanwhile, the Public Prosecution continues its investigation into the case, as the family demands the harshest punishment for the perpetrators to prevent the recurrence of such incidents, which pose a serious threat to student safety both inside and outside school premises.
