Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that his country does not rule out the option of carrying out assassinations inside Iran, directly hinting at the possibility of targeting the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Ali Khamenei, as part of Israel’s response in the escalating conflict between the two sides.

Netanyahu made the remarks during a visit to Soroka Medical Center in Be’er Sheva, which was recently hit by an Iranian rocket strike as part of Tehran’s retaliation for Israeli attacks on its territory. He stated that the current military escalation between Israel and Iran marks a turning point—not only in the regional balance of power but in broader international arrangements.

Netanyahu emphasized that Washington is actively involved in protecting Israeli airspace from Iranian threats, reaffirming the strength of the relationship between Tel Aviv and the U.S. administration—particularly former President Donald Trump, whom he described as “the best friend Israel has ever known.”

He added that Israeli operations deep inside Iran are not only aimed at its military infrastructure but also carry a strategic message: that Israel will not allow Tehran to acquire nuclear weapons. He said, “What we are doing will redraw the map of the Middle East and even impact the shape of the entire world.”
In recent hours, Iran launched a large barrage of missiles toward Israeli territory, some of which landed near the city of Be’er Sheva. One of the strikes hit Soroka Medical Center, the third-largest medical institution in Israel, causing panic and raising serious questions about the effectiveness of Israeli air defenses against such advanced threats.

The escalation between the two sides remains likely to intensify, with no clear signs of containment so far, as international attention turns to global reactions and regional responses in the coming days.
