The New Cairo Court on Saturday postponed the guardianship lawsuit filed by one of Dr. Nawal El-Degwi’s grandchildren, requesting legal guardianship be imposed on her, to a hearing on September 30. The decision was made to allow submission of official documents from the criminal case related to the theft of valuable items from her villa, and to give both parties time to present their documents and legal memoranda.

In a tragic turn of events, one of the accused, Ahmed Sherif El-Degwi, was found dead by suicide, having suffered a gunshot wound inside his apartment, just days after returning to Cairo from a medical trip abroad.
