Judge Essam Mohanna, attorney representing a number of high school students, confirmed that the Administrative Court has issued a ruling accepting the legal case demanding manual re-evaluation of high school exam answer sheets. This decision came in response to what many parents described as serious errors in the electronic grading system, which led to unjustified drops in several students’ final scores.

The court ordered the Ministry of Education to present the original answer sheets of the concerned students, to be reviewed and manually compared against the official answer keys.

Mohanna explained that the case was filed after receiving numerous complaints from families who suspected tampering or negligence in the grading process—especially in core subjects that significantly influence a student's university admission prospects. He emphasized that this ruling marks a crucial step toward correcting the system and affirms the right of students and parents to demand a fair and transparent review process.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education's control committees across various governorates continue to receive students appealing their exam results, in line with the official schedule set for reviewing grievances. During these sessions, each student is allowed to view a copy of their answer sheet and compare it with the official model answer.

Students are required to write their detailed observations by hand on a separate sheet, which will later be submitted to specialized review committees comprised of senior subject advisors and grading experts. These committees will determine whether the student is entitled to any additional marks.

The Ministry of Education confirmed that if a student's claim is validated, their result will be officially updated in the central database, and they will be formally notified of the change. The ministry reiterated that these procedures aim to ensure full transparency and reinforce public trust in the examination system.

It is worth noting that the 2025 high school exam appeals process has garnered unprecedented attention this year, amid widespread concern and frustration among families who were surprised by the announced results. The situation has sparked ongoing calls to strengthen oversight of electronic grading and to offer a flexible manual review mechanism when needed.

Counselor Nevin Wahsh emphasizes that criminal investigations, despite their importance in the initial detection of crimes, cannot be considered fully-fledged evidence in criminal proceedings. Not every piece of information recorded in investigation reports rises to the level of legal proof, and the belief formed by law enforcement officers cannot, on its own, justify a criminal conviction.
