CNN has revealed, citing two sources familiar with ongoing discussions within the U.S. administration, that President Donald Trump is increasingly leaning toward the option of launching a military strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, amid growing disappointment with the lack of tangible progress from diplomatic efforts.

According to the network, this shift marks a significant development in Trump’s approach to the Iranian file, especially given that he had previously expressed willingness to give diplomacy a chance—provided Tehran made substantial concessions related to its nuclear program and regional behavior. However, the sources confirmed that the president is now more convinced that the language of force is the most effective option.
In recent days, high-level meetings have continued among senior U.S. officials in an attempt to find a political solution to avoid escalation. Yet, the general atmosphere inside the White House suggests that hardliners are gaining influence. This group believes verbal threats are no longer sufficient, and that the time has come for concrete action on the ground.
