In a tragic incident that unfolded this morning in Egypt’s Dakahlia Governorate, river rescue forces discovered two floating bodies in the Nile River in the city of Mansoura—one belonging to a middle-aged man and the other to an unidentified woman. The bodies were found in the "Qulunjil" area within the jurisdiction of Mansoura First Police Department.

The Director of Dakahlia Security received an emergency call alerting authorities to the presence of two bodies in the river. Police, ambulance, and river rescue teams immediately responded to the scene, where the bodies were retrieved in front of a crowd of shocked bystanders.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the first body belonged to a man named El-Sayed Massaad Othman Mohamed, 45 years old. He had no identification documents on him, and his place of residence or the reason for being at the site remained unknown. The second body was of an unidentified woman, estimated to be around 55 years old. She was wearing simple house clothes, suggesting she may have been on her way to perform a routine task before her death.
Both bodies were transferred to the morgue at Mansoura International Hospital under the authority of the public prosecution, which has initiated legal procedures. A report was filed, and a criminal investigations team was assigned to determine the woman’s identity and investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths—whether foul play was involved or the incident was accidental.

The fact that both bodies were found at the same location and around the same time raised public concern and suspicion, especially since there were no eyewitnesses to the drowning or any events leading up to it. This has led authorities to explore the possibility of a connection between the two individuals.

Security forces are continuing their investigation, reviewing nearby surveillance footage and collecting further evidence. The prosecution has also requested forensic autopsies to determine the exact cause of death, as part of efforts to uncover the truth behind this mysterious and troubling incident.
