A research team at National Taiwan University has unveiled a simple yet powerful new method to treat hair loss, showing visible results in as little as 20 days, according to promising laboratory experiments on mice.
The innovative treatment involves a serum made from naturally derived fatty acids, which stimulates fat cells in the skin to regenerate hair follicles quickly and safely, without irritation or harmful side effects.

During the study, scientists observed significant hair regrowth in the treated areas, while untreated areas remained bald. Professor Sung-Jan Lin, the study’s lead author, reported that after applying an early version of the serum to his own legs for three weeks, he experienced noticeable new hair growth.

Researchers found that the active compound in the serum triggers immune cell migration to the fat layer beneath the skin, prompting fat cells to release fatty acids that are absorbed by hair follicle stem cells, thereby reactivating the natural hair growth cycle.

The team believes this serum could soon be available as an over-the-counter skincare product, marking a revolutionary step in the field of non-invasive hair restoration for those suffering from genetic or stress-related hair loss.
