Symptoms include yellowing of the face and scalp, potentially spreading to the body, hands, and soles in severe cases, along with unusual sleepiness, feeding difficulties, and sometimes pale stool and dark urine.
Treatment depends on severity:

Moderate jaundice: phototherapy under blue lights with eye protection, or using a bilirubin blanket, with feeding every 3-4 hours.
