26th of July Street Closed for 3 Days for Monorail Construction in Giza
The Giza Traffic Department announced a full closure of 26th of July Street for three days due to ongoing monorail construction works, with alternative routes provided to ease traffic congestion.
The Giza Traffic Department has announced a temporary full closure of 26th of July Street as part of the monorail project connecting Wadi El Nile to 6th of October City.
The closure will affect the direction from 15th of May Bridge toward Lebanon Square, starting Friday, October 10, 2025, until Sunday morning, October 12, 2025, with work taking place daily from midnight until 6 a.m.
Two alternative routes have been arranged to ease traffic flow:
First route: Vehicles coming from 15th of May Bridge toward Lebanon Square should turn right onto Salah Jahin Street, then left onto Dr. Hegazy Street, and continue to Wadi El Nile Street, rejoining 26th of July Street beyond the construction zone.
Second route: Turn right onto Salah Jahin Street, then right again to Ahmed Orabi Street, followed by Gameat El Dowal El Arabia Street, continuing to El Sudan Street and Lebanon Square.
Traffic authorities confirmed that sufficient traffic services will be deployed, and technical guidance signs will be installed to ensure the safety and security of road users throughout the closure period.
