The suspect in the Al-Haram family murder gave a full confession after nearly 12 hours of intensive interrogation, recounting every step of the crime that shook public opinion. He said that he met the victim about three months earlier when she shared her marital problems and her desire for divorce. Taking advantage of her vulnerable state, he offered her a place to stay in a rented apartment in the Faisal area, and she accepted, bringing along her three children.
The suspect explained that he told the children he had married their mother to justify living with them. However, tension grew between him and the woman after her divorce when she demanded an official marriage. He refused, claiming he no longer trusted her and feared that she and her children might expose him since they knew his identity and had lived with him for weeks. According to his statement, this fear drove him to plan a horrific act to silence them all.
He confessed that he began his plan by poisoning the mother. He mixed a toxic substance into her juice and waited until she began suffering severe pain. Pretending to care, he offered to take her to the hospital but only wanted to ensure her death far from his home. After confirming she was dying, he left her in the emergency room under false names and fled the hospital immediately.
Three days later, he continued his plan by offering the same poisoned drink to the three children. The two older ones drank it, but the youngest refused. The suspect said he took the little boy to a nearby canal and threw him into the water until he drowned. Then he returned to find the other two children dying from the poison’s effects. When they stopped breathing, he placed their bodies in a tuk-tuk, with the help of a worker from his shop, and disposed of them in an abandoned building before returning home as if nothing had happened.
Investigations are still underway to uncover the full motives behind the crime, described by officials as one of the most horrific family murders in recent years. Prosecutors continue to examine the suspect’s statements and evidence to prepare the final case for trial.
