Death of Abdullah El-Sayed, the Hero Who Saved an Elderly Woman from the Faisal Fire
Abdullah El-Sayed, the young man who risked his life to save an elderly woman from the deadly Faisal fire, has passed away from third-degree burns.
Egypt mourns the loss of a true hero today — Abdullah El-Sayed, whose act of bravery captured hearts across the nation. He sacrificed his life to save an elderly woman trapped in a massive fire that broke out in a residential building in the Faisal district of Giza.
According to eyewitness accounts, the fire started in a clothing store on the ground floor and quickly spread throughout the building. Upon seeing the trapped woman unable to escape, Abdullah rushed to help without hesitation, climbing through windows from a neighboring building to reach her amid thick smoke and blazing flames.
Carrying the elderly woman on his shoulder despite suffering burns, Abdullah tried to escape through the rooftop, only to find the door locked. Forced to descend again through the fire, he sustained severe third-degree burns over most of his body.
He was transferred to Ahl Masr Hospital, where he underwent two surgeries, including a skin graft, but sadly passed away from his injuries. The woman he saved remains in intensive care.
Abdullah’s story stands as a testament to pure courage and selflessness — a reminder that true heroism is born in moments of danger, where compassion triumphs over fear.
