The Shubra El-Kheima Partial Court in Qalyubia ordered the renewal of detention for the suspects in the assault case involving a father and his young son in Basous for 15 days, ensuring legal compliance. Authorities are monitoring the condition of the victims, "the child Mohamed and his father."
The victims’ lawyer revealed new details, including the arrest of two additional suspects, raising the total number involved to six, with legal procedures underway against them.
The prosecution continues questioning the suspects, who were found in possession of firearms and knives, after being referred to the general prosecution in Qalyubia.
Security authorities had investigated a widely circulated video showing a group of people with firearms and knives attacking the father and his son in a Basous street, resulting in severe injuries and panic among bystanders.
Investigations revealed that the Basous Police Station received a report on the 19th from a hospital, indicating that the "owner of a wire factory" and his 5-year-old son had been admitted with shotgun pellets and lacerations. Security forces promptly moved to the scene.
The first victim accused his “wife’s uncle” and his sons of the attack due to ongoing family disputes. The suspects admitted to committing the act and revealed the weapons used, including a shotgun, a single-barrel gun, and a knife. The prosecution has taken all necessary legal actions and continues the investigation.
