Jordanian Blogger “Suzy Al-Ordoniya” Referred to Economic Court for Publishing Immoral Content and Violating Public Morals
Egyptian authorities referred Suzy Al-Ordoniya to the Economic Court on charges of publishing indecent videos and ordered her assets frozen pending trial.
In a move reflecting Egypt’s firm stance against immoral online behavior, Jordanian content creator Suzy Al-Ordoniya has been officially referred to criminal trial before the Economic Court, after being accused of publishing indecent videos containing offensive gestures and language on her social media accounts.
According to the investigation, the influencer intentionally shared the videos to attract followers and increase her audience engagement, aiming to generate financial profits through online monetization systems, despite being fully aware that such acts violate public decency and moral values.
Security authorities managed to arrest the blogger at her residence in Cairo’s El-Matareya district, after her videos went viral and sparked public outrage across social media platforms. Legal permissions were obtained from the Public Prosecution before conducting the arrest, ensuring all actions complied with due process.
During questioning, the accused confessed to uploading the videos, claiming her sole intention was to achieve fame and boost her online revenue, yet admitting she had underestimated the legal consequences of her behavior.
The prosecution has also ordered the freezing of her financial assets, following evidence that she had received income directly linked to her online activities involving explicit material.
Judicial sources emphasized that this case is part of an ongoing national campaign to monitor and regulate online content, ensuring that digital platforms are not exploited for the spread of unethical or indecent material. The authorities reiterated their commitment to preserving public morals, family values, and societal traditions in the digital space.
This case follows a series of similar prosecutions targeting online influencers accused of violating Egypt’s moral and social standards, reaffirming that freedom of expression does not justify crossing ethical boundaries or exploiting social platforms for financial gain at the expense of public decency.
