Authorities have scheduled October 12 for the investigation of the third and fourth suspects in the theft of an ancient bracelet from the Egyptian Museum before the military court. The defense of one of the suspects stated that the investigation authorities referred the accused for military trial.

The second suspect admitted during questioning that he acted in good faith and was unaware that the bracelet was stolen or ancient. He explained that he knew the first female suspect as his neighbor and only acted as a middleman between her and the third suspect in the gold trading area, earning a commission for his services.

He also revealed that the first suspect broke the gem on the bracelet using pliers to conceal its antique value. Transactions were conducted according to customary practices among jewelers without official invoices, while experts officially determined the bracelet’s purity and weight, which was found to be 37.25 grams.
