Egyptian prosecutors have ordered the burial of a woman and her three children who lost their lives in a shocking murder case in the Lebini area of Haram, while the main suspect remains in custody for four days pending further investigations.
The suspect, identified as Ahmed M., aged 38, confessed to the crime in chilling detail. He revealed that he met the victim, “Zizi,” about three months ago when she frequently visited his veterinary medicine shop, and the relationship between them evolved into an illicit affair.
According to his confession, after the victim had a dispute with her husband, she moved into his rented apartment with her three children. However, when he discovered she was involved with other men, he decided to take revenge. He admitted to mixing a corrosive chemical with a veterinary cleaning solution and a medical drug, then giving it to her to consume. Her health deteriorated rapidly, leading to her hospitalization at Qasr Al-Aini Hospital, where she passed away three days later.
The suspect went on to kill the three children, fearing they might expose him. He poisoned the two older children and threw the youngest into the Mansouriya Canal after he refused to ingest the substance. He was aided by a 54-year-old employee named Ramadan S., using a tuk-tuk to dispose of the bodies at the entrance of a residential building in Lebini.
Residents discovered the children’s bodies and reported the incident, prompting a swift response from Major General Mohamed Magdy Abu Shimila, Director of Giza Security, and Major General Hany Shaarawy, Deputy Director of Giza Investigations.
Officers from the Haram Police Department, led by Lt. Col. Mostafa El-Dekr and Captain Ahmed Abada, arrived at the scene and managed to identify and arrest the suspect within hours. Investigations confirmed that the motive was personal revenge linked to an illicit relationship.
Legal procedures have been initiated, and further investigations are underway to determine whether others were involved.
