Authorities have renewed the detention of a woman accused of throwing a gas cylinder from her apartment balcony for 15 days pending investigation, after the cylinder struck a young girl on the head and caused a skull fracture while she was walking with her mother in the street.

During questioning, the woman admitted throwing the cylinder down to replace it with a full one from the delivery vendor. She claimed she was unable to carry it downstairs due to spinal problems, which made lifting the heavy cylinder difficult for her.

She added that she did not notice pedestrians below the building and said she never intended to harm anyone, describing the incident as an uncalculated mistake rather than a deliberate act.

The child’s mother confirmed that her daughter’s condition is currently stable but that she is suffering from a skull fracture and remains under continuous medical observation. Doctors have ordered further heart and chest examinations, especially since the child has a heart defect, to ensure there are no complications such as fluid on the lungs.

Security forces arrested the suspect following the report that a cylinder fell on a woman carrying her child, causing serious injuries. Investigators also decided to release the woman’s husband after questioning, as no evidence linked him to the incident.

The case began when a hospital received a young girl with a fractured skull. Investigations showed that the suspect threw the cylinder from the balcony without checking the street below, causing it to land on the mother and her child while they were passing by.
