The daily Quranic recitation involves setting aside a portion of the Quran to read regularly each day. The Prophet ﷺ encouraged this practice due to its profound spiritual impact and its reward on the Day of Judgment: “Recite the Quran, for it will come as an intercessor for its companions.”

Virtues of Daily Quran Recitation:

  •

Daily recitation elevates the reader’s rank on the Day of Judgment, as stated: “The one who recites the Quran will be told: Recite and recite in order, as you did in the worldly life.”

  •

Reading a few verses is better than many material possessions: “Three verses read in prayer are better than three fat, meaty camels.”

  •

The Quran is guidance and mercy: “O mankind, a reminder has come to you from your Lord, and healing for what is in the hearts, and guidance and mercy for the believers.”

Prophet’s Daily Quran Recitation:

  •

Surah As-Sajdah and Surah Al-Mulk before sleep.

  •

    Surah Al-Isra and Surah Az-Zumar.

  •

Ayat al-Kursi and the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah.

  •

Al-Mu’awwidhat: “Say: He is Allah, the One”, “Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of the Daybreak”, “Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of mankind”.

  •

Surah Al-Kafirun: read the ending before sleep as a declaration of monotheism.

How to Maintain a Daily Quranic Portion:

  1.

Set a fixed reading time daily.

  2.

Carry a small Quran or app for anytime reading.

  3.

Use waiting times or idle moments for reading.

  4.

Start with a simple portion to avoid overwhelm.

  5.

    Make recitation a daily task.

  6.

Encourage friends to recite together to stay motivated.

  7.

Constantly remind yourself of the immense reward: “Recite the Quran, for it will come as an intercessor for its companions.”
