Houses of Worship Renewed.. Egypt’s Awqaf Ministry to Open 24 Mosques Tomorrow
As part of a nationwide plan to develop houses of worship, the Ministry of Awqaf is set to inaugurate 24 mosques across Egypt, reflecting ongoing efforts to modernize and expand religious facilities.
The Ministry of Awqaf continues its efforts to develop and maintain houses of worship across Egypt, announcing the opening of 24 mosques tomorrow, Friday, as part of a broader national plan aimed at enhancing places of worship and providing a better spiritual environment for worshippers.
Details of the New Mosques
The openings include:
- 1 newly built mosque
- 13 mosques rebuilt or fully renovated
- 10 mosques undergoing maintenance and development
Achievements in Mosque Development
The ministry revealed that since July 2025, a total of 1,041 mosques have been opened, including 801 newly built or renovated mosques and 240 mosques that underwent maintenance and upgrades.
Since 2014, the total number of mosques built, renovated, or furnished has reached 14,530, with investments exceeding 27 billion EGP, marking one of the largest religious infrastructure development plans.
