The White Days are among the most blessed days of every Islamic month. Muslims are encouraged to observe voluntary fasting during these days in accordance with the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). They fall on the 13th, 14th, and 15th of each lunar month.

White Days of Safar Dates

The White Days of Safar are:

Monday – 13 Safar

The first recommended fasting day.

Tuesday – 14 Safar

The second White Day, when the moon reaches its full brightness.

Wednesday – 15 Safar

The third and final recommended fasting day.

Why Are They Called the White Days?

Egypt's Dar Al-Ifta explains that these days are named after the bright moonlit nights when the moon appears full and radiant.

The term "White Days" refers to the brightness of the nights, although the name is commonly used for the days themselves.

Virtues of Fasting the White Days

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) encouraged Muslims to fast three days every lunar month.

He said:

"Fasting three days of every month is like fasting for a lifetime, and the White Days are the 13th, 14th, and 15th."

Since every good deed is rewarded tenfold, fasting three days each month carries the reward of fasting the entire month.

Benefits of Fasting the White Days

Following the Sunnah

It is a recommended practice regularly observed by the Prophet.

Strengthening Faith

Increasing Rewards

What are the White Days?

They are the 13th, 14th, and 15th days of every Islamic lunar month.

Why are they called the White Days?

Because the moon shines at its fullest during those nights.

Is fasting the White Days obligatory?

No. It is a highly recommended Sunnah.

What is the reward for fasting them?

The reward equals fasting the whole month because every good deed is multiplied tenfold.

Can Muslims fast the White Days every month?
