The Egyptian capital Cairo is preparing to welcome a major Arab chess event with the start of the Arab Youth and Junior Chess Championship, which will witness record participation in terms of the number of countries and players involved. 🔥
The Egyptian Chess Federation, headed by Major General Mokhtar Emara, announced the completion of preparations for the tournament, which will be held from July 29 to August 4, with the participation of 16 Arab countries and more than 350 male and female players.
This edition comes with great attention from Arab chess federations, especially with the noticeable growth of the sport in recent years and the increasing focus on developing young talents and preparing them for major competitions.

Major General Mokhtar Emara, President of the Egyptian Chess Federation, confirmed that the current championship will be historic by all standards, highlighting that the large participation reflects the great confidence Arab federations have in Egypt’s ability to organize major sporting events.
He explained that the total number of participants, including players, technical and administrative staff, and organizing committees, is expected to approach 750 people, reflecting the importance and size of the event.

The participating countries include Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Iraq, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Yemen, Oman, Palestine, and Syria, alongside host nation Egypt.
