The match started strongly for Al-Ittihad, with Fadi Farid opening the scoring in the 21st minute with a precise ground cross converted into a goal. Five minutes later, he doubled the lead with a well-executed header in the 26th minute.
In the second half, Al-Ittihad continued their dominance, scoring the third goal in the 63rd minute when a shot deflected off John Ebuka and found the net, confirming the team’s superiority in the match.
With this win, Al-Ittihad Alexandria raised their points tally to six, moving into third place in Group C, while Zamalek remained on four points in fifth place, intensifying the competition ahead of the upcoming group stage matches.
Sudanese midfielder Amir Abdullah impressed in his first continental appearance, proving that emerging talents can make a significant impact.
Zamalek will rely solely on youth players for their match against Al-Ittihad, rejecting requests to include first-team goalkeepers Awad or El-Mehdi.
