Clubs Association Approves Canceling Relegation in the Premier League for the Exceptional Season

In a surprising decision, the Professional Clubs Association agreed to cancel relegation from the Egyptian Premier League in the current exceptional season, which is held under a two-phase system. This decision came in response to demands from many clubs struggling at the bottom of the standings, aiming to achieve technical stability and fair competition.

The association’s meeting saw a vote involving 15 clubs, with 10 clubs approving the cancellation of relegation, while 5 clubs abstained due to concerns about the number of relegated teams next season and the competition format. The decision includes continuing the current league system for the next three seasons.

Meanwhile, the next league season will feature 21 teams, with the championship group consisting of 7 teams and the relegation group having 14 teams. This step aims to maintain competition while reducing pressure on smaller clubs.
