Sports journalist Ibrahim Abdel Jawad stirred concern among Al Ahly fans after announcing on his official Facebook account that the team’s star player Wissam Abu Ali has suffered an ankle sprain, calling the news a shock for the Red Castle supporters.

Abdel Jawad noted that Wissam underwent medical scans to assess the severity of the injury, which will determine his availability for the upcoming match against Bank El Ahly in the Egyptian Premier League.

This development comes following Al Ahly’s hard-fought 1-0 victory over Ceramica Cleopatra at the Arab Contractors Stadium, in the sixth round of the league’s second phase. Moroccan player Ashraf Bencharki scored the only goal in the 20th minute, assisted by Emam Ashour’s precise pass that broke through Ceramica’s defense.

With this win, Al Ahly maintained its lead atop the league standings with 52 points, temporarily two points ahead of second-placed Pyramids FC, who have 50 points, in an exciting race for the league title this season.
