Despite Zamalek qualifying for the Egyptian Super Cup final after defeating Pyramids 5-4 on penalties on Thursday, the team suffered a setback with injuries to stars Adi El-Debagh and Mahmoud Bentayek, raising questions about their participation in the final against Al Ahly.
The Al Ahly vs. Zamalek match will take place on Sunday, November 9, at Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in the UAE, starting at 5:30 PM Cairo time.
The match will be broadcast on Dubai Sports, Abu Dhabi Sports, and On Sport, preceded by the third-place playoff between Pyramids and Ceramica Cleopatra at Al Nahyan Stadium.
The winner of the Super Cup receives $300,000, the runner-up $200,000, and each participating team—Al Ahly, Zamalek, Pyramids, and Ceramica Cleopatra—receives $50,000.
Injury Update:
Zamalek’s medical team confirmed that the injuries to Adi El-Debagh and Bentayek during the semi-final are minor and do not require surgery. The report explained that both players experienced mild muscle pain during the match, prompting their withdrawal to ensure safety.
Preliminary examinations indicated a mild muscle strain, which is not concerning, but the medical staff will handle it carefully to ensure full recovery before the final.
The players will undergo additional tests in the coming hours to determine their readiness for team training ahead of the Super Cup final against Al Ahly.
