This official action coincides with the ongoing investigations by the Public Prosecution into the death of player Youssef Ahmed, one of the participants in the National Karate Championship held in Alexandria. The player collapsed unconscious on the field during one of his matches and was immediately transferred to receive medical care. However, all rescue efforts failed, sparking a wave of sadness and concern within the sports community.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports affirmed that this step reflects its supervisory responsibility and its commitment to institutional accountability, emphasizing that player safety is a top priority in the country’s sports agenda. The ministry also aims to take all necessary measures to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.

Investigations have revealed administrative and technical negligence on the part of several federation officials, prompting the Public Prosecution to refer some of them to the Misdemeanor Court.
