Ahmed “Zizo” Abdel-Sayed, midfielder for Al Ahly, suffered a hamstring injury during the match against Bank Al Ahly at Cairo Stadium, ruling him out for the entire month of February.
Sports commentator Khaled El-Ghandour confirmed via social media that Zizo has a muscle tear, keeping him sidelined and unavailable for coach Jes Troop during upcoming competitions.
Al Ahly is set to face JS Kabylie of Algeria on Saturday, February 7, in the fifth round of the CAF Champions League group stage. The team currently tops the group with 8 points after a 1-1 draw against Young Africans in the fourth round.
Coach Jes Troop granted the squad a light rest on Wednesday after the draw with Bank Al Ahly, with training resuming on Thursday as the team prepares for the upcoming match.
