Former Zamalek defender Ahmed Dwidar reacted to the team’s 6–0 victory over Somalia’s Dekadaha in the CAF Confederation Cup, praising the performance but urging fans not to overhype the result given the clear difference in quality between the two sides.
Former Zamalek player Ahmed Dwidar shared his thoughts on the team’s 6–0 victory against Dekadaha (Somalia) in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup Round of 32, played at Cairo International Stadium 🏆⚽.
Posting on his Facebook page, Dwidar wrote:
"Good morning! Zamalek won 6–0 yesterday, which is great, and there were many positives from the match. But, as my respected teacher Mohamed Seif says, hold on a minute — that’s the normal result. With all due respect to Somalia, let’s not overreact. Have a great white day!"
Dwidar emphasized that while the win is positive and beneficial for morale, it should be viewed realistically, given the big gap in level and experience between the two teams. He added that Zamalek’s real test will come in the later rounds of the competition against stronger opponents.
In the match, Ahmed Sherif opened the scoring in the 22nd minute from an Ahmed Fattouh cross, before Juan Bezzera doubled the lead in the 34th minute. Amr Nasser made it 3–0 just a minute later, and Zamalek went on to seal a comfortable 6–0 win 🔥🤍.
Zamalek’s starting lineup featured:
Mohamed Sobhy in goal; defenders Ahmed Fattouh, Mahmoud Hamdy El-Wensh, Hossam Abdelmagid, and Omar Gaber; midfielders Ahmed Rabie, Ahmed Hamdy, and Nasser Maher; and forwards Ahmed Sherif, Amr Nasser, and Juan Bezzera.
With confidence running high, Zamalek now turn their attention to the return leg against Dekadaha, aiming to continue their winning momentum and push further into the com
petition 💪.
