Former Al Ahly player Ahmed El Sayed has discussed the club’s current approach to renewing player contracts, explaining that the board has established a salary ceiling and is seeking to apply the same financial framework across the squad.
Speaking on the “Number One” program, El Sayed said: “Not every player who wants to renew with Al Ahly can set his own conditions. Al Ahly is currently working properly by setting a certain salary ceiling. Imam Ashour renewed under the club’s new policy, and all players will renew under the same system. Al Ahly does not depend on any player.”
The policy comes as Al Ahly negotiate with a number of players whose contracts are approaching their end, with the club seeking to maintain financial balance within the dressing room.

The former Al Ahly defender also addressed the future of Yasser Ibrahim, describing him as an important player while stressing that the club remains committed to its salary structure.
He said: “There are defensive mistakes when Yasser Ibrahim is playing, but Al Ahly has a certain salary ceiling and is working within that limit. I believe Al Ahly will reach an agreement with Yasser Ibrahim in the coming period.”

At the same time, he noted that contract renewals involve more than sporting quality and must also take into account the stability of the dressing room.
