🔥 The Confederation of African Football has officially announced the final shortlist for the 2025 African Goalkeeper of the Year award, with Egyptian star Ahmed El Shenawy, goalkeeper of Pyramids FC, making the list after a sensational season filled with outstanding performances on the continental stage.

El Shenawy faces tough competition from Moroccan internationals Yassine Bounou, the Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia) goalkeeper, and Munir Mohamedi of Morocco’s RS Berkane, in what promises to be a thrilling North African showdown. 🧤

Pyramids FC enjoyed a historic year in 2025, winning the CAF Champions League, the Intercontinental Cup, and the CAF Super Cup, while also sitting atop the continental club rankings. These achievements have made Ahmed El Shenawy one of the strongest contenders for the prestigious award. 🏆

⚽ Meanwhile, CAF also announced the nominees for the 2025 African Coach of the Year award, which includes Egyptian national team coach Hossam Hassan and Croatian manager Krunoslav Jurcic of Pyramids FC.

Hossam Hassan led Egypt to qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, topping their World Cup qualifying group with 26 points from 10 matches  without a single defeat  earning him a well-deserved place among Africa’s elite coaches. 🇪🇬

Other contenders for the award include Sami Trabelsi (Tunisia), Moein Chaabani (RS Berkane), Walid Regragui (Morocco), Mohamed Ouahbi (Morocco U20), Tarek Sekouti (Morocco local team), Pape Sarr (Senegal), Bubista (Cape Verde), and Romuald Rakotondrabe.
