Media personality Ahmed Hassan revealed via his official Facebook page behind-the-scenes details regarding Zamalek SC’s choices for the new head coach of the first football team. Hassan indicated that John Edward, the club’s newly appointed sporting director, favors bringing in a foreign manager to lead the team in the upcoming season, instead of relying on a local coach.

This news comes in parallel with the administrative changes currently taking place within Zamalek’s football operations. The club’s board of directors, headed by Captain Hussein Labib, recently announced the conclusion of the Planning Committee’s mission, which had been responsible for drafting a comprehensive restructuring vision for the football sector.

In an official statement, the club expressed its full appreciation for the efforts made by the committee over the past period, noting that its members will continue to serve as technical advisors to the board to ensure the continuity of the development strategy that has been established.
According to decisions unanimously approved by the board, John Edward has been appointed as the Sporting Director of the Football Sector, with full authority to manage the first team and develop strategic plans to enhance the team’s performance and bolster its ranks in the near future.

The statement emphasized that any official news related to the first team or the football sector as a whole will be released solely by the Sporting Director or the club’s official spokesperson.
