German coach Matthias Jaissle emphasizes the importance of Al Ahli Saudi’s upcoming match against Sharjah in the AFC Champions League, with the main goal being a decisive victory and maintaining their title defense.
Al Ahli Saudi’s German head coach, Matthias Jaissle, highlighted the crucial nature of the team’s upcoming clash with Sharjah from the UAE, scheduled for Monday in the group stage of the AFC Champions League Elite.
During the press conference, Jaissle stated: “The match against Sharjah is extremely important, and we must play smart due to physical demands. We are excited to play at home in front of our fans.”
He added that finalizing the starting lineup is still premature, but emphasized that securing the three points is the main objective. He also clarified that he is not currently considering the upcoming match against Al Qadsiah.
Jaissle expressed his pleasure in playing in front of Al Ahli fans, noting that their continuous support plays a vital role in the team’s performance in the competition, saying: “Our fans always make a difference, and we aim to perform at our best.”
Regarding recent criticism over the team’s performance, the coach stated that he does not pay attention to it and remains focused on winning despite challenges, including players joining national teams and having to rely on the available squad.
