Al Ahly secured an important victory over Wadi Degla with a 3-1 scoreline in their match at Cairo Stadium as part of the 16th round of the Egyptian Premier League.
The match started with Al Ahly pressing high, relying on the movement of Emam Ashour, Zizo and Trezeguet, while Wadi Degla focused on counterattacks. Al Ahly quickly took control of possession and created several dangerous chances.
Trezeguet opened the scoring in the 25th minute after capitalizing on a defensive mistake, dribbling past the goalkeeper and finishing calmly. Zizo later doubled the lead from the penalty spot after a VAR review, ending the first half with Al Ahly ahead 2-0.
In the second half, Al Ahly maintained their dominance. Emam Ashour hit the post before Marwan Osman added the third goal in the 67th minute with a close-range finish following a precise cross.
Wadi Degla managed to score a late consolation goal through Ziad Osama in stoppage time, but Al Ahly comfortably closed the game with a 3-1 win.
With this result, Al Ahly move to 26 points from 13 matches in third place, while Wadi Degla remain on 23 points from 15 games in fourth, as Al Ahly continue their push toward the league summit.
