Sports journalist Amir Hesham shared a behind-the-scenes photo from a photoshoot conducted by the Al Ahly first football team today, Sunday, as part of the team’s preparations for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup. Hesham posted the photo on his official Facebook page, commenting:
"🚨🚨Al Ahly players’ photoshoot today in preparation for the Club World Cup 📸."
In a related context, sports journalist Ahmed Shobeir revealed the latest updates regarding the contract renewal file of Rami Rabia, the team’s defender. He confirmed that the matter remains unresolved so far, writing:
"His renewal with Al Ahly has so far hit a dead end."
Speculations about the player’s future have intensified in recent hours, especially amid reports suggesting that he is close to leaving the Red Castle. Meanwhile, Sherif Abdel-Fadil, former Al Ahly star and current Egypt youth national team coach, indicated that Rabia is considering a new professional experience in the Saudi league in the near future.
During his appearance on the program "Ya Masa’ Al-Anwar" with presenter Medhat Shalaby on MBC Masr channel, Abdel-Fadil said that Rabia has already packed his belongings from the locker room and is seriously preparing to leave. He added that Rabia has received a financially attractive offer from a Saudi club, which is making him think about taking a new step in his professional career.
He further commented:
"We live in the era of professionalism, and it is the player’s right to choose what suits him. At the same time, Al Ahly has rights over Rami, and Rami also has rights over the club. He is one of Al Ahly’s own players and regularly participates with the team. If he misses matches, it is for medical reasons, not technical."
Abdel-Fadil concluded by affirming that Rabia still enjoys the confidence of the technical staff led by Marcel Koller, pointing out that his recent match appearances reflect his value within the team. However, at the same time, Rabia is seriously weighing his future options in light of the tempting offer from Saudi Arabia.
