The board of directors of Al Ahly, headed by Mahmoud El Khatib, has refused to let go of Mustafa Shobeir, the young team goalkeeper, despite receiving several tempting offers from abroad. A source inside the club confirmed that Shobeir received a European offer from a major marketing company aiming to promote him to clubs in the top five leagues, similar to Omar Marmoush’s transfer to Manchester City. Additionally, there was an offer from a club in the Mexican league.
After reviewing the offers, Al Ahly decided against letting Shobeir leave, especially as the third-choice goalkeeper Hamza Alaa is expected to leave the team at the end of the season. This decision came despite the club securing the signing of Mohamed Seha, the goalkeeper from Arab Contractors who is currently on loan to Haras El Hodoud, as a potential replacement.

Sports presenter Ahmed Shobeir confirmed on his radio show "Ma’a Shobeir" that his son received several European offers but left the decision to Al Ahly officials. He added that the marketing company in contact with Al Ahly is the same one that successfully promoted Omar Marmoush to top European clubs. He explained that the company’s representatives held a lengthy meeting with the club’s sporting director, Mohamed Youssef, to convince him to market the player.

Ahmed Shobeir also noted that the board rejected the Mexican offer made by the marketing company. He pointed out that Mustafa’s contract with Al Ahly extends for two more seasons in addition to the current one. He also revealed interest from Spanish club Valencia, as well as other Spanish teams like Getafe and Almería, and one Portuguese club.

Mustafa Shobeir has played 49 matches with Al Ahly, conceding 27 goals and keeping a clean sheet in 27 games, reflecting his great potential and the club’s insistence on keeping him as a key option for the future.
