Media personality Khaled El-Ghandour announced via his official Facebook account that Zamalek Club has successfully completed the signing of goalkeeper El Mahdy Soliman from Al Ittihad of Alexandria. The deal spans two seasons and aims to bolster the goalkeeper position with an experienced player well-versed in domestic football.

This signing comes as part of Zamalek’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the first team squad with new talents capable of adding technical value, especially as the club prepares for a new season filled with high ambitions both domestically and continentally.
In a related context, a source within the club revealed that the club’s sporting director, John Edward, is planning a comprehensive overhaul of the team’s internal regulations. This move seeks to establish stricter rules and reinforce discipline within the dressing room, following reports last season of a lack of commitment from some players.

The source indicated that the new internal code will focus on financial and organizational structure by revising the reward and penalty clauses to ensure fairness among all players, while also encouraging hard work and professional conduct both on and off the pitch.

Edward is working on drafting these changes in full coordination with the team’s Belgian head coach, Yannick Ferrera, to ensure alignment between the technical and administrative visions—part of a broader plan to bring the team back on track and into strong contention for all titles.
