Sports critic Amr El-Dardir commented on the injury of Kareem Fouad, Al Ahly and Egypt national team player in the Arab Cup, who suffered a tear in the medial collateral ligament (MCL) of his right knee along with a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). El-Dardir wrote on Facebook: “Get well soon, Kareem. Tough luck on the pitch, may God heal you, my friend.”
The player sustained the injury during team training, suffering a knee bruise, and Dr. Ayman Zein, the national team doctor, provided immediate first aid. The next morning, Fouad visited “Aspetar” Hospital for examinations and necessary imaging.
Dr. Zein confirmed that scans showed a tear in the medial collateral ligament of the right knee along with a tear in the ACL. The injury requires conservative treatment for 4–6 weeks, with full coordination with Al Ahly’s medical team to follow a precise rehabilitation program.
