Spanish wonderkid Lamine Yamal is set to return for Barcelona in their clash against Girona on Saturday evening at the "Montjuïc" Stadium, as part of Matchday 9 of La Liga 🏟️.
Yamal has recovered from a groin injury that sidelined him for several weeks, keeping him out of Barcelona’s recent match against Sevilla and Spain’s World Cup qualifying games 🌍.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the young forward underwent medical tests and intensive training sessions this week under coach Hansi Flick, showing excellent physical and technical readiness to rejoin the team pending final medical clearance.
His comeback comes at a crucial moment for Barcelona, especially with both Raphinha Díaz and Robert Lewandowski sidelined through injury, giving Yamal a golden opportunity to reclaim his starting spot.
Yamal has a strong record against Girona, one of his favorite opponents, having scored two goals in four previous league encounters. Meanwhile, Granada remains the team that has conceded the most goals to him in La Liga (three), followed by Mallorca, Girona, and Real Madrid, each with two ⚽🔥.
So far this season, Yamal has featured in five official matches, scoring two goals and providing four assists, contributing directly to more than one goal per game on average.
The young winger now aims to continue his impressive form and boost his goal tally as he helps Barcelona overcome their challenging phase before a busy fixture schedule including the highly anticipated El Clásico against Real Madrid on
October 26.
