📌 Patrice Motsepe, President of the CAF, announced an increase of $2 million in prize money for the winners of the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup.
🏆 The 2025/26 CAF Champions League winner will receive $6 million, up 50%, while the Confederation Cup winner will receive $4 million, a 100% increase.
💡 Over Motsepe’s five-year tenure, Champions League prize money rose from $2.5 million to $6 million (140% increase), and Confederation Cup rewards rose from $1.25 million to $4 million (220% increase).
💸 Total financial awards and solidarity payments for African clubs now exceed $42 million per season, up 114% since Motsepe became CAF president.
📌 Motsepe also confirmed that clubs eliminated in preliminary rounds will receive $50,000 each as part of CAF’s commitment to supporting African football.
