🔥 The Cairo Derby Crisis Heats Up Internationally… The Sports Court Summons the Football Association!

Following a complaint filed by Pyramids FC, the Football Association today received an official letter from the International Sports Court (CAS), urgently requesting clarifications regarding the sanctions imposed after Al Ahly’s withdrawal from the recent Cairo Derby match against Zamalek in the Premier League.

⚖️ CAS Requests Urgent Clarifications

The international court has asked the Football Association to provide detailed explanations about the disciplinary decisions issued by the Clubs’ Association, as well as the decision of the Appeals Committee that rejected the appeals of the affected clubs, foremost among them Pyramids.

This request comes as part of the court’s review of the official complaint submitted by Pyramids, which seeks an expedited resolution to the urgent aspect of the crisis.

🧾 Why Were the Clubs’ Appeals Rejected?

The Appeals Committee had previously announced the rejection of appeals from Al Ahly, Zamalek, and Pyramids, based on Article 63/2 of the league regulations, which protect the decisions of the Clubs’ Association board from any form of appeal or challenge.

According to the head of the Appeals Committee, all league clubs had previously agreed to these regulations, including the clause protecting the association’s decisions, thereby preventing any internal legal challenges.

⚠️ The Escalation Continues… CAS Steps In!

The Appeals Committee’s decision to dismiss the appeals did not end the controversy. Instead, it pushed Pyramids to take the dispute to the International Sports Court, which has now officially intervened, potentially opening a new phase of escalation and possibly altering the course of the sanctions.
