Zamalek Club has intensified its consultations in recent hours to select a new head coach for the first football team in preparation for the upcoming season. Among the names strongly proposed is Portuguese coach Pedro Caixinha, who has emerged as a leading candidate to take over the role following the departure of the previous technical staff.

Caixinha is regarded as a seasoned coach with notable achievements across Europe, Latin America, and the Arab region, making him an attractive option for Zamalek’s management. The club is seeking a modern-minded coach with a strong personality who can restore discipline to the team and lead it back to winning trophies.

According to informed sources within Zamalek, Caixinha's name has been actively discussed within the club due to his extensive coaching record with several top-tier teams. Additionally, his Portuguese background adds to his appeal, especially considering the success Zamalek has previously experienced with Portuguese coaches, most notably Jesualdo Ferreira.

The club’s sporting director, John Edward, is reportedly keeping the managerial appointment process highly confidential. He has refused to disclose any details before an official announcement is made, aiming to ensure the success of the negotiations without external media pressure.

An official unveiling of the new coach is expected soon to allow adequate time for pre-season preparations. This includes setting the training schedule, organizing friendly matches, and assessing the squad, including new signings and returning loanees.
Caixinha brings with him a diverse coaching portfolio, having managed clubs such as Al-Gharafa in Qatar, Al-Shabab in Saudi Arabia, Santos Laguna in Mexico—where he won both the league and the cup—Cruz Azul (Mexico), Rangers (Scotland), and most recently, Santos (Brazil).

This broad range of experience equips him with tactical and cultural adaptability, potentially offering Zamalek a competitive edge both domestically and on the continental stage, should the deal be finalized.
