A crisis has erupted within Zamalek Club between former Football Director Abdel Wahed El-Sayed and Ahmed Hossam Mido, a member of the Planning Committee, over Abdel Wahed’s request to obtain a financial clearance certificate following his official departure from the position. According to informed sources, Mido intervened to halt the procedure, which escalated tensions between the two, especially amid recent administrative disputes within the White Castle.

This conflict reflects the ongoing administrative turmoil within the club, raising questions about the reasons behind delaying the clearance process—particularly since Abdel Wahed El-Sayed is considered a club legend and has held significant responsibilities in recent times.
At the same time, Zamalek’s legal department is handling a new issue concerning player Ahmed Hamdy, who faced a formal investigation on Wednesday before the club’s legal affairs due to posts that club officials deemed inappropriate, which he shared on his personal Instagram account.

The club’s media center announced that the results of the investigation will be presented to the Board of Directors, headed by Captain Hussein Labib, to determine the appropriate action in accordance with the first team’s regulations, which prohibit players from discussing internal matters on social media.

The controversy dates back to recent days when Ahmed Hamdy published comments related to his relationship with the coaching staff and management—remarks that were perceived by some as unprofessional and in violation of team discipline, warranting accountability to preserve locker room stability.
