EFA Referees Committee Launches Educational Camp for 30 Egyptian Female Referees
The Egyptian Football Association’s Referees Committee has launched a three-day educational and training camp for 30 female referees, aiming to enhance their technical and physical performance under the supervision of Oscar Ruiz, head of the main referees committee.
🎓 The Egyptian Football Association’s Referees Committee kicked off a closed training and educational camp today at the National Teams Center, with the participation of 30 female referees, including 15 main referees and 15 assistants. The event was attended by Dr. Mostafa Azzam, Executive Director of the EFA, Oscar Ruiz, Head of the Main Referees Committee, and Wagih Ahmed, Deputy Chairman of the Committee.
⚽ Oscar Ruiz explained that the camp is part of a long-term plan to develop women’s refereeing in Egypt, focusing on motivating female referees, improving their decision-making, and preparing them physically and technically for upcoming local and international competitions.
📚 The three-day camp includes lectures by Oscar Ruiz and Hiyam Baraka, a member of the committee and head of the women’s refereeing department. The program covers a review of the Laws of the Game, video test assessments, and training on quick and accurate decision-making, in addition to confidence-building sessions aimed at reducing refereeing errors and improving performance.
💪 Practical training sessions are also held on the national teams’ pitches in Sixth of October City, following earlier preliminary training for female referees in Alexandria, Beheira, and Cairo, as part of a broader plan to prepare qualified Egyptian female referees for continental and global tournaments. 🇪🇬
