Egypt Capital Cup Begins on October 7
The 2026-27 Egypt Capital Cup will officially get underway on Wednesday, October 7, with the opening round continuing across two days.
The first round features eight matches, while four teams will have a bye. The competition consists of 20 clubs divided into four groups, with five teams in each group.
🔥 Wednesday, October 7 Fixtures
Four matches are scheduled for Wednesday:
- Petro Asyut vs Al Ahly – 5:00 PM.
- Pyramids vs El Qanah – 5:00 PM.
- Zamalek vs ZED – 8:00 PM.
- Ceramica Cleopatra vs Al Masry – 8:00 PM.
The Al Ahly-Petro Asyut clash will attract particular attention as the Egyptian giants look to make a strong start, while Zamalek will face ZED as they begin their own campaign and continue preparing several players for the demanding period ahead.
⭐ Thursday, October 8 Fixtures
The remaining four opening-round matches will be played on Thursday:
- Al Ittihad Alexandria vs Wadi Degla – 5:00 PM.
- Al Mokawloon Al Arab vs El Gouna – 5:00 PM.
- Modern Sport vs National Bank – 8:00 PM.
- Ghazl El Mahalla vs Abu Qir Fertilizers – 8:00 PM.
The four teams receiving a bye in the opening round are Tala'ea El Gaish, Smouha, Eastern Company ENPPI and Suez Petrojet.

The draw divided the 20 participating clubs into four groups:
Group A: Zamalek, Wadi Degla, ZED, Tala'ea El Gaish and Al Ittihad Alexandria.
Group B: Pyramids, Smouha, National Bank, Modern Sport and El Qanah.
Group C: Al Ahly, Eastern Company ENPPI, El Gouna, Al Mokawloon Al Arab and Petro Asyut.
Group D: Al Masry, Ceramica Cleopatra, Suez/Petrojet, Ghazl El Mahalla and Abu Qir Fertilizers.
Each group contains five teams under the tournament format announced by the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association.

The new edition of the Egypt Capital Cup is expected to feature strong competition from the very first round, with several major Egyptian clubs facing opponents determined to make an early statement.
