The Egyptian sitting volleyball team achieved a historic milestone by being crowned World Cup champions 🏆🇪🇬 after a remarkable 3-1 victory over Brazil in the final match held in Indianapolis, USA 🇺🇸.

Set scores were as follows: Brazil won the first set 25-19, before Egypt stormed back to take the next three sets 25-22, 25-15, and 25-21, sealing a well-deserved world title 💪🔥.

The Egyptian squad featured captain Hesham Salah, Ashraf Zaghloul, Abdelnaby Hassan, Mohamed El-Hanawy, Hossam Massoud, El-Sayed Moussa, Ahmed Khamis, Ahmed Fadl, Zakaria El-Sayed, Motawa Abu El-Kheir, Hamada Hassan, and Ahmed Zakaria. The technical staff included head coach Dr. Wagih Hamdy, assistant coach Mohamed Bashir, coach Mohamed Saad, and team manager Amin Abdel Moneim, while Dr. Sameh Salem headed the delegation.

Egypt’s journey to the title was exceptional  they defeated India, Japan, and Australia in straight sets, then beat Croatia 3-1, before losing to Brazil in the group stage. The team rebounded strongly, overcoming the Netherlands 3-0 in the quarterfinals, then sweeping Kazakhstan in the semifinals, and finally avenging their earlier loss by beating Brazil 3-1 in the grand final 🏐👏

The Egyptian sitting volleyball team is now recognized as the most successful national team in the country’s Paralympic history. They have earned three Paralympic medals (2004, 2016, 2024), three World Cup medals (2006, 2010, 2023), and now the 2025 title, along with two Intercontinental Cup medals (2012, 2016) and eight consecutive African Championships 🌍🥇.
