The Egyptian Football Association board, headed by Hany Abu Rida, has taken several official decisions regarding the Orange club crisis following incidents at the association’s headquarters on August 17, 2026.
The incident involved a number of Orange players, coaches and administrative staff entering the federation’s headquarters.
Orange Sports Appeal Referred to Appeals Committee
The Egyptian FA decided to refer the appeal submitted by Orange Sports for Sports Services and Investment to the Appeals Committee.
The committee will review the appeal and take the appropriate decision in accordance with its jurisdiction and the applicable regulations.
Eight Orange Coaches and Officials Suspended
The Egyptian FA board also approved a memorandum submitted by its legal department concerning the incidents that took place at the federation’s headquarters on August 17.
As a result, the federation decided to suspend the following eight coaches and officials and refer them to the Disciplinary Committee:
- Hussein Mahmoud Swailem Selim – Head Coach.
- El Sayed Ali El Sayed Ali – Assistant Coach.
- Mohamed Osama Ahmed Zidan – General Manager of the Football Sector.
- Ali Mohsen Ali Hussein – Goalkeeping Coach.
- Mohamed Hassan Ezzat Rashed – Fitness Coach.
- Wael Mohamed Mohamed Abdel Gawad – Administrative Director.
- Hafez Masry Hafez Abdel Sayed – Players’ Affairs Administrator.
- Mahmoud Oweis Eid Moatamed – Coach.
Disciplinary Committee to Review the Case
The Disciplinary Committee is expected to review the incidents referred to it and take the necessary measures under the applicable regulations.
Meanwhile, the Appeals Committee will examine the appeal submitted by Orange Sports.
